Radio’s Female Voices
In response to Darcelle-Dixon Hunt’s letter last Sunday regarding women on morning radio:
When I listen to morning radio, I do not look for the “female voice of reason, wit and clarity.” I look for people who will make me laugh, regardless of their sex. The problem with women deejays is that, even when left alone, they are just not as funny as the men. And humor is the name of the game in the morning.
Only when women deejays start to compete with the men and deliver the laughs will they receive their due on morning radio and the attention of listeners, including myself.
