THOUSAND OAKS : Council to Consider New Rental Permits
- Share via
Thousand Oaks landlords would need a permit to rent a single-family house to four or more adults under a proposal to be reviewed tonight at City Hall.
A 12-member committee made up of representatives of the real estate industry, landlords and the City Council will discuss the proposed ordinance at 7 p.m.
Under the proposal, officials would consider available parking, the number of bathrooms and the size of the home before issuing a permit.
The committee, chaired by Councilwoman Elois Zeanah, has been working on the proposal since September, 1990, when the council rejected an ordinance to limit the number of people who could live in a house.
Zeanah said that if the group approves the plan tonight, she will take it before the City Council next month.
