Jose De Sosa of Pacoima was reelected president of the California State Conference of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People on Saturday at the group’s annual convention in Burbank.
De Sosa has served as president since the umbrella organization for the state’s NAACP branches was founded in 1988. Seventy-eight NAACP branches belong to the group, including the San Fernando Valley branch, which De Sosa also heads.
Other officers elected at the convention were Roietta Fulgham of Sacramento, vice president; Janet Wells of Palo Alto, secretary, and Pauline Jones of Kensington, treasurer. All officers serve two-year terms.
