Driver in Car Chase Dies of Head Injuries

A Chatsworth man who crashed his sedan into a brick wall in Newbury Park in Ventura County has died of head injuries at Los Robles Regional Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said.
John Turner, 20, had led authorities on a harrowing chase along the Ventura Freeway with his lights off Monday, reaching 115 m.p.h. speeds before his car rammed into the wall. Turned died Thursday.
Hanz Hoffman, 22, of Canoga Park, a passenger in the car, remained in critical condition at the hospital, the nursing supervisor said.
