Better Bowl Choices Could Have Made It a Happier New Year
- Share via
What a major disappointment to loyal Cal fans and the Cal football team when a lower-ranked team, Notre Dame, was picked to play in the Sugar Bowl over California. It is apparent that a designer-brand team with mass media appeal has the power to influence the people who select the teams for the Sugar Bowl. Is it money? Is it ratings? Who cares! The facts are clear. The Cal football team has been sold out.
Let me suggest that next year we rename it the Equal Bowl and get some teams that truly represent the concept that hard work and achievement get recognition and acceptance.
