IS HE SERIOUS? How far will Rep. William E. Dannemeyer (R-Fullerton) go to express his disdain for a proposal to place the gnatcatcher on the endangered species list? Now he’s written to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, urging that California workers be placed on the same list. . . . He writes: “It will protect Californians from government intrusions; critters won’t stand in the way of needed jobs.”
