WESTMINSTER — Mike Jacot ran for 200 yards and Dennis Amundson gained 158 to lead Southern California Christian to a 42-6 victory over Anza Hamilton in the first round of the Southern Section Division X playoffs Friday night at Westminster High.
Southern California Christian (9-2) plays in the second round next Friday against Maranatha (5-5), which had a first-round bye.
Hamilton took a 6-0 lead on its first possession after a 65-yard pass from quarterback Pete Slevcove to Neil Port.
Then Jacot, Amundson and the Flame offensive line took control of the game. Jacot had a three-yard touchdown run on Southern California Christian’s first possession and Amundson ran three yards for the score on the Flames’ second possession. Amundson ran for two-point conversions after each touchdown.
A 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Nathan Lambie to Mike Hatcher on the Flames’ third possession gave them a 22-6 halftime lead.
Amundson scored on a 51-yard run, Lambie threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Hatcher and Jacot ran 53 yards for a touchdown for Southern California Christian.
