Dolco Packaging Corp., which recently emerged from bankruptcy reorganization, reported a third-quarter loss of $847,000 compared with a year-earlier loss of $985,000.
The latest loss in the quarter ended Sept. 30 came on a 17% drop in Dolco’s sales, to $13.5 million from $16.2 million.
Dolco, which makes plastic packaging goods, emerged from Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy laws on July 29. Dolco and its former parent, Olson Industries Inc., merged during the reorganization into a single entity that kept the Dolco name. Dolco said its third-quarter loss included $701,000 in one-time costs related to plant closings and other reorganization efforts.
For the first nine months of this year, Dolco lost $3.02 million compared with a $920,000 loss a year earlier, and its nine-month sales fell 19%, to $42.4 million from $52.2 million.
