HUNTINGTON BEACH : Meeting Called After String of Burglaries
- Share via
Due to a recent rash of burglaries in the city, a special neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled tonight to help residents protect their homes.
Presentations will be made by police officials at the 7:30 p.m. meeting at Perry School, 19231 Harding Ave.
Police have reported an unusual number of burglaries during the last 45 days in the neighborhoods bounded by Yorktown Avenue, Ellis Street, Magnolia Avenue and Beach Boulevard. Many of the burglaries have occurred at homes with unlocked doors or windows. Some garages have also been targets.
At the meeting, residents will receive information about locks for doors, windows and garages, and a film about home burglaries will be shown. Discussions are also expected on the formation of neighborhood watch committees.
