Bush Signs Funding Bills for Military, Cabinet

WASHINGTON — President Bush on Tuesday signed into law bills providing $269.7 billion for the Defense Department in fiscal 1992 and $204 billion for the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.
The military will get funds for two weapons systems left over from the Cold War-$4.15 billion for research and development on the Strategic Defense Initiative anti-missile program and $4.36 billion for development of the B-2 Stealth bomber.
