Norwalk : Council Orders Survey of Transit Needs, Bus Routes
- Share via
The City Council has voted 3-to-1 to conduct a survey of Norwalk’s transportation needs and develop more efficient bus routes.
According to the city manager’s office, the study is necessary because the city’s existing bus fleet needs to be replaced in the next five years.
Councilman Robert E. White argued vehemently against the measure. “We’ve already changed the routes,” he said. But other council members supported the study. “We need to find out if the system meets the needs of the people,” Councilman Robert J. Arthur said.
Wilbur Smith Associates will conduct the $62,000 study.
