Farewell Dame Peggy: Prince Edward and actors Sir John Gielgud, Ben Kingsley and Peter O’Toole were among more than 2,000 people who attended a memorial at Westminster Abbey in London on Friday for the Oscar-winning actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft, who died in June. Ashcroft, who was 83 when she died after a stroke, retired from the stage in 1982; she won an Academy Award for “A Passage to India” in 1984.
