Yamaha Electronics Executive Assumes the Title of President

Masaaki (Matt) Ito, chief operating officer of Yamaha Electronics Corp. USA, has been named to the additional title of president.
He succeeds Donald Palmquist, who retired in September after 10 years with the company.
Ito, 47, will be responsible for sales, marketing and service of the company’s electronics products, as well as its daily operation and financial management.
The Buena Park company is a U.S. marketing arm of Yamaha Corp. of Japan.
From 1981 to 1986, Ito worked for a Yamaha Electronics affiliate in Buena Park, Yamaha International Corp., and later became president of Yamaha Music Australia Pty. Ltd. in Melbourne.
He has also been deputy general manager of Yamaha Corp.’s international division in Hamamatsu, Japan. Yamaha Electronics employs 70 people in Orange County.
