Rookie fullback Ernie Thompson, who scored a touchdown during Sunday’s 31-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and caught a 22-yard pass on a fake punt, definitely has an NFL future, Coach John Robinson said. Thompson, the team’s 12th-round draft pick, spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the practice squad. Thompson, 5 feet 11 and 230 pounds, left Indiana University after only two seasons.
