Chinese Premier Li Peng arrives here Wednesday for a six-day visit that is likely to further promote growing contacts between the world’s two most populous nations.
Li is due to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and other officials on a variety of issues, including the two nations’ disputed Himalayan border.
Li recently said that China and India can find common ground concerning “establishment of a new international world order,” the official New China News Agency reported. Both countries have long stressed that non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations should be a key basis for international relations.
