King of All Posters: A poster for the 1933 RKO classic “King Kong” was sold at a Christie’s auction in New York on Monday for $57,200, setting an auction record for a movie poster. The poster portraying Kong climbing the Empire State Building with Fay Wray clutched in his hand was sold to an anonymous collector. The previous world record was $37,500 for a poster for “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,” a 1919 Bioscope film.
