Frank Ashley, a longtime associate of the late Armand Hammer, resigned as vice president of corporate communications at Occidental Petroleum Corp., citing personal reasons.
His duties will be assumed by Howard Collins, 48, who will retain the title of director of public relations. Collins has been with Occidental since 1984.
Ashley, 49, was with Occidental for nine years and worked closely with company patriarch Hammer, who died last December at age 92. Ashley is returning to his home state of Kentucky.
