HEADING CLASS: Chuck Finley’s new $18.5-million, four-year contract with the California Angels (C1) makes him the third-highest paid pitcher in baseball, right behind Roger Clemens and Dwight Gooden. Clemens and Finley have the same agents. . . . Broken down per year, the deal puts Finley slightly ahead of Wally Joyner, who dumped the Angels for the Royals’ $4.2-million one-year contract. Finley’s includes a $1.5-million signing bonus. Up front money was a sore point in Joyner’s talks with the Angels.
