Title Hopes End for 6 Area Teams

Six remaining area high school football teams were eliminated last week in their respective divisions of the CIF Southern Section playoffs.
Wilson High of Long Beach was defeated by the nation’s top-ranked team, Rialto Eisenhower, 39-7, in Division I; Dominguez was eliminated by Dana Hills High of Dana Point, 35-6, in Division II; top-ranked Esperanza of Anaheim downed Schurr, 49-7, in Division III; Nogales defeated El Rancho of Pico Rivera, 20-17, in Division IV; Trabuco Hills of Mission Viejo beat La Mirada, 24-20, in Division VII; and Carpinteria defeated Valley Christian of Cerritos, 35-28, in Division IX.
