NBC President Skirts Rumors of Sale: Robert C. Wright sidestepped rumors that parent General Electric plans to break up the network and sell its parts to Paramount Communications and Turner Broadcasting System. In a 20-minute videotaped pep talk to affiliates, Wright said that “during the last 24 months of economic recession and audience erosion, we couldn’t have had an owner more supportive than GE.”
