2 Victims of Apparent Murder-Suicide Identified

Two of three Alhambra residents killed in an apparent double murder and suicide Wednesday morning were identified by authorities Thursday as Vincent Peng Kian Tan, 48, and his wife, Jane Oi-Chun Tan, 43.
Sheriff’s investigators believe that Vincent Tan shot his wife and a 23-year-old boarder before shooting himself after a 7:30 a.m. argument in the Tan home in the 200 block of North Electric Avenue.
The couple’s 6-year-old daughter, who deputies say witnessed the killings of her mother and the boarder, and Jane Tan’s 17-year-old son are now staying with friends of the slain couple. The boarder’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives in Singapore.
