FILLMORE : School Board Sets Even-Year Elections

Elections for Fillmore school board members will be held in even-numbered years, the district’s board of trustees has decided.
Moving the elections from odd-numbered years, when few elections are held, will save the district money, officials said.
District officials said the cost of an odd-year election was rising because fewer districts were sharing the cost of about $1 per vote.
Incumbent Dick Richardson and new trustee Nancy Marshall were elected to the school board this year. Instead of being up for reelection in 1995, they will serve five-year terms, until 1996.
