A San Diego man was shot in the calf Saturday during an argument with two men in Logan Heights, police said.
According to police, Reginald Lamont Smith, 23, was arguing with Eric Brunson Mitchell, 19, also of San Diego, and a 16-year-old boy at 2:27 p.m. at 25th Street and Imperial Avenue when Smith was shot.
“They made some kind of comment to Smith, and I guess Mitchell fired the weapon at him,” Lt. Tom Orden said.
Police officers who were nearby heard the shots and arrived to see two men running from the scene, Orden said. The officers chased the pair and recovered a .357-Magnum revolver, he said.
Mitchell was being held at County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The 16-year-old was released.
Smith’s injuries were minor and he did not require hospitalization, Orden said.
