R. G. Reynolds Sentenced: Former radio and television financial talk show host Richard (R. G.) Reynolds, who was convicted last month on 13 counts of mail fraud and two counts of witness tampering, was sentenced to 17 years in prison. In handing down the sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Manuel L. Real in Los Angeles also ordered Reynolds to repay his victims $420,955, plus interest. Federal prosecutors had charged Reynolds, 44, with swindling more than 70 fans of his syndicated talk shows--mostly inexperienced investors--out of more than $1.3 million. He has remained in custody since his trial began Oct. 29.
