Thing’s New Home: A businessman from Redford, Mich., spent $22,000 to buy Thing’s box from “The Addams Family” television show at Christie’s auction house. Christie’s had estimated that the wooden-hinged box, one of six originals that housed the severed hand Thing on the 1960s TV show, would sell for $3,000 to $4,000.
