Delta Takes Charge From Pan Am Expenses: Delta Air Lines said it was taking a $50-million write-off for expenses related to the aborted reorganization of Pan American World Airways. The charge will be reflected in the Atlanta-based carrier’s fourth-quarter results, Delta’s chief financial officer, Thomas J. Roeck, said. Pan Am stopped flying early this month after Delta said it would provide no more money to keep Pan Am in business.
