THOUSAND OAKS : Trash Fees Hiked to Pay for Recycling
- Share via
Starting Jan. 1, Thousand Oaks residents will have to pay $2 more on their trash bills for recycling programs aimed at reducing the amount of garbage the city produces.
Monthly trash bills for residents of single-family houses will go from $14.60 to $16.60, the City Council decided unanimously Tuesday night.
Residents of condominiums and apartment houses will pay $12.50 instead of $10.50 a month to have trash collected. The increase is the city’s third in 1 1/2 years.
In addition to the rate increase, the council also adopted a fee for waste haulers.
