Pasadena : Police Approve Contract

The city’s police officers have agreed to a two-year contract that will eventually raise their salaries by 8% and increase the city’s contribution to medical benefits.
Under terms of the agreement, a police officer with three years’ experience will earn $46,688 annually by the second year of the contract, which begins next October. The city has also agreed to increase its share of medical and dental benefits by 1.7%, said Dennis Diaz, president of the 170-member Pasadena Police Officers Assn. .
“Considering the times, the condition of the economy, it’s a very good contract,” Diaz said.
