Man’s Body Found in Van Nuys Alley

The body of an 18-year-old man, the apparent victim of a gang shooting, was found early Thursday in a Van Nuys alley, Los Angeles police said.
A person who heard gunfire went outside to investigate about 12:20 a.m. and found the dead man, who was later identified as Jose Manuel Garcia of Van Nuys, behind a convalescent home in the 13400 block of Sherman Way, Detective Stephen Fisk said.
Garcia had been shot several times in the upper torso, Fisk said.
Police said Garcia was a known gang member and the shooting is believed to have been gang-related.
