BOOST: Hurt by the recession, the arts in Orange County got a big year-end gift Friday. . . . The new Leo Freedman Foundation awarded nearly $1 million in grants to a dozen local arts programs. (F1) . . . The foundation, formed by the Beverly Hills developer who made his fortune in Anaheim, has assets exceeding $12 million and plans to give local grants annually. Foundation trustee Ellis Stern calls it “at least a beginning for economic recovery of the arts” here.
