The ‘Action Column’

Howard Rosenberg’s satirical jabs at the “newsspeak” (“Coming Right Up in This Exclusive Action Column!!,” Jan. 15) used to exploit and promote local TV news programs were right on target, and I only hope some local news directors will feel the sting and heed his words.
Thanks also for a touching valedictory to KNBC-TV reporter John Marshall. His departure is indeed another discouraging sign of declining quality in local news.
