Fans Down on Downey for Column That Said Magic Shouldn’t Play

To Mike Downey, regarding your column, “Separating Magic’s Fun From Games,” (Jan. 26):
You said that you hated writing it, well, I hated reading it! I want to see Magic play in the All-Star game and in the Olympics.
Because he is an identified HIV carrier, is he any more of a threat than unidentified basketball players who are currently playing every day? If you are against Magic playing, then shouldn’t all players in contact sports be tested?
