We’ll Swap You Oil for a Bird to Broil

JACKSON, Miss. — American poultry and Russian oil could be part of a barter package supplying the hungry republic with 530 million pounds of chicken legs over 12 months.
Bob Anthony, president of American Poultry USA, said bartering is being discussed because of Russia’s shortage of hard currency and limited credits.
Anthony, whose organization represents 14 major poultry producers, said Americans prefer white meat, while Russians prefer legs.
