The California Highway Patrol on Monday honored a group of Los Angeles police officers for arresting auto theft suspects and recovering 140 stolen vehicles in the North Hollywood area last year.
At a ceremony in the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood station, the 17 officers received commemorative pins from CHP Lt. Chuck Shipley. Each of the North Hollywood station officers made six or more grand theft auto arrests during 1991, said LAPD Sgt. Dennis Zine.
Topping the list was Officer Scott Rate with 15 arrests, followed by Officer Timothy Walters with 12 arrests, and Officer David McMahon and Officer Thomas Ingledew with 10 arrests each.
