Gays Enjoy Blessings Too

John Dart’s otherwise informative article (“Mormons to Host Interfaith Event,” Jan. 18) inaccurately stated that the “Mormon Church does not . . . allow homosexuals who are open about their sexual orientation to belong to the Church.”
While the Mormon Church requires celibacy from its single members, both heterosexual and homosexual, it has no membership restrictions based upon sexual orientation. In fact, the ward of the Mormon Church which we attend has several gay members who enjoy the same blessings of membership and full fellowship as the heterosexual members of the congregation.
