Compaq Settles Advertising Dispute: Compaq Computer Corp. and Dell Computer Corp. said they have settled their legal battles over each other’s advertising claims. Dell will pay Compaq an undisclosed sum, but the amount will not have a material effect on the financial statements of either firm, the companies said.
