Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Car

A 20-year-old Granada Hills man was killed when his motorcycle broadsided a car turning left in front of him in Northridge, Los Angeles police said.
Philip Massarella III was pronounced dead at Northridge Hospital Medical Center at 4 p.m., about an hour after the accident at Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff Street, Officer David Hopkins said.
The accident occurred when Massarella, who was driving east on Nordhoff, struck a car as it turned left from Nordhoff onto Corbin. The other driver, Rose Kennedy, 18, of Northridge, was not injured, Hopkins said. The case was still under investigation.
