Genesis of a New Miniseries: CBS announced that Dino De Laurentiis Communications will produce an eight-hour miniseries, “The Bible,” for the network. The episodes will focus on Old Testament stories such as Adam and Eve, Samson and Delilah, Joseph in Egypt and Judith and Holofernes. Among the directors being sought are Paul Verhoeven, Franco Zeffirelli and Jonathan Demme. No air date has been scheduled.
