Finding Good Use for Taxes

Raise my taxes. I mean it. The government can raise my taxes if it uses the money to expand the California Conservation Corps (“Straight and Narrow Path,” March 16).
I have always heard good things about the CCC, both the present California program and the national model begun during the Depression when Roosevelt was President.
The concept is a great one, so why aren’t the presidential hopefuls discussing it? The CCC is exactly what thousands of young people need, an opportunity to work, to get out of the big, drug-plagued cities and start a new life.
