On Hunting

I am absolutely appalled by the Canadian government’s approval of an increase in seal hunting (“Sealers and Eco-Tourists Draw Battle Line in Ice,” March 15). I don’t understand their change of mind. First they ban it almost completely, now they say kill as many as 500,000. Their only motivation for increasing seal hunting is in the decrease of cod fishing. How can they blame the seals? Seals are not the only animals to eat fish. This show of greed is just too much. It’s an animal’s life against another animal’s life but the cod’s life seems to make more money.
