It’s pretty near impossible to get a good cup of joe on an airplane. And you can just forget about fresh-brewed espresso or cappuccino--airplanes aren’t equipped for that. But Milwaukee-based Midwest Express may change all that. Executives there are considering putting espresso machines on board its airplanes.
The espresso machines must still be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, and the interior of some of the cabins must be redesigned. But Midwest already bakes cookies on board all meal flights, and as Kelly York, food and beverage executive with Midwest Express, says: “At least we’ve taken the first steps.”
