A large distributor of T-shirts, sunglasses and hats is changing its name and moving from Los Angeles to Oxnard.
The firm, formerly known as Cal Trading Co., will be called T-Shirt Warehouse in its new location near Rose Avenue and the Ventura Freeway, according to Jerry Steinke of CB Commercial Real Estate Group in Ventura.
A spokesman for the newly named company said that in addition to being a wholesaler, the firm will also become a retailer when it opens its new headquarters later this month.
Steinke said Young Kwon, owner of T-Shirt Warehouse, has signed a 10-year lease on a 39,312-square-foot building at 1975 Lockwood St. in the McGrath Business Campus.
The structure, which Steinke described as one of the largest warehouses available on the Oxnard Plain, will be leased at a total cost of more than $1.8 million, the broker said.
