Orange’s Peterson Loses in Easter Bowl

MIAMI — Adam Peterson of Orange, the top-seeded player in the boys’ 18 division, was beaten in the second round of the Easter Bowl junior tennis tournament Tuesday at Doral Resort and Country Club.
Peterson was eliminated by Ryan Juinio of Cerritos, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3. Peterson had a chance to close out the match in the second set tiebreaker but lost, 7-4.
In the boys’ 16 singles: Cypress’ Glenn Weiner, the fourth seed, beat Chad Copenhagen of Shelby, N.C., 6-0, 6-3, and No. 2 B.J. Stearns of Seminole, Fla., defeated Jakub Pietrowski of Huntington Beach, 6-4, 6-1.
