Schwartz Takes First in Speedway Main Event

COSTA MESA — Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Shawn McConnell of Brea was second, Steve Lucero of Riverside third and Louis Kossuth of Brea fourth.

Schwartz also won the eight-lap handicap main event. Lucero was second, Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano third, Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach fourth and Andy Northrup of Ontario fifth.
