COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Reynolds, Donaldson Lead Cal Lutheran Softball Sweep

Laree Reynolds stroked a game-winning single in the first game and added two runs batted in in the second game Friday to lead Cal Lutheran to a doubleheader sweep of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the UC San Diego softball tournament.
The Regals won the first game, 2-1, and the second game, 7-1.
Stacy Donaldson (13-5) won both games, tossing a six-hitter in the first game and pitching four innings of scoreless relief in the second.
The Regals (22-11) will play San Diego today at noon in the semifinals. A victory will put Cal Lutheran into the championship game at 4 p.m.
Donaldson gave up a first-inning run in the first game, but the Regals scored two runs in the sixth. Alysa Mathews started the Regals’ rally with a walk and Michelle Campos reached base on an error.
Cheryl Aschenbach’s grounder forced Campos at second, but Mathews went to third and scored on a passed ball. With Aschenbach on second, Reynolds lined an RBI single to break the tie.
Cal Lutheran took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of the second game on a single by Aschenbach and a double to left-center by Reynolds. The Regals broke the game open in the fifth with six runs.
BASEBALL
Citrus 10, Oxnard 1--Citrus pounded out 15 hits against three pitchers in a nonconference game at Citrus.
