IN NAME ONLY: Officially, today, there is no more Security Pacific Bank, since it joins BankAmerica in the biggest banking merger in history (D1). But Security Pacific customers shouldn’t forget the name yet. Officials at a Security Pacific branch on Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana say customers won’t know the difference for awhile, and will be notified well in advance before any name changing on checks or statements occur. However, BankAmerica literature may be available in Security Pacific branches in about a week.
