Mayor Bradley’s Leadership

A recent quote from Bradley printed in The Times Magazine in response to a request for his prescription for peace stated: “My very busy schedule as mayor of the City of Los Angeles would not permit me at this time to give that question the very thoughtful and detailed answer it deserves.”
I think the mayor should have been a little more thoughtful before making his angry and inflammatory remarks following the King trial verdict. They were hardly a “prescription for peace” and undoubtedly added to the tension of the situation.
