L.A. Baptist Shuns Montclair Prep

L. A. Baptist High will not schedule events against Montclair Prep in any sport during the 1992-93 school year as a result of last week’s vote of Alpha League members to oust Montclair Prep from the league.
Although the league’s 5-0 vote reduces Montclair Prep to free-lance status, league members Village Christian, Western Christian, Marshall Fundamental and Maranatha are expected to schedule nonleague events against the Mounties next school year.
Maury Neville, L.A. Baptist athletic director, said officials from both schools believed it was best to have a “cooling-off period.”
“Right now the relationship between us and Montclair Prep is very negative,” Neville said.
