HEAD Palomar League
Fallbrook 6, Rancho Buena Vista 6--Neither school seemed to want the regular season to end, playing on into the 10th inning before things too dark and wet in Vista. Actually, RBV appeared headed for a sure victory in regulation, but the Warriors rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to tie it, 6-6. After 10 innings, it was called. Catcher Chad Pearson had the key hit, a one-out single to left, which drove in the tying run from third. A potential run was denied when Longhorn left fielder Eric Borgeson threw out another runner trying to score from second. Fune Moi, a senior right fielder, led RBV (15-10-2, 9-4-1) with two hits in four at-bats, including a two-run triple in the third inning. This was the fourth extra-inning game in its last seven for Fallbrook (12-11-2, 6-7-1).
