CHILD’S PLAY: Center-fielder Chris Powell helped Cal State Fullerton into the College World Series with his hustle and a .538 batting average at the regional playoffs in Louisiana. (C1) . . . George Horton, who coached Powell at Cerritos College and is now Fullerton’s associate head coach, said: “The first time I realized he was different was when we were at Cerritos and he was playing with these little Army men with my kids.
